Innovate UK and Enterprise Europe Network have joined forces with the Agile Ageing Alliance to organise an experimental creative innovation workshop

Innovate UK and Enterprise Europe Network have joined forces with the Agile Ageing Alliance to organise an experimental creative innovation workshop on January 25th in Bruxelles, Brussels Enterprise Agency Chaussée de Charleroi 110, 1060, Bruxelles. Networking from 9.30am for 10.30am start; through 5.30pm.

We are all familiar with the challenges associated with ageing populations and “silver tsunamis”. We are also conscious of exciting opportunities for social innovation leading to a richer set of possibilities later in life. The purpose of this experimental workshop is to concentrate on opportunities.

The organisers will provide a fertile creative environment where like-minded multi- disciplinary cross sector stakeholders can think collaboratively, about extending professional life through the design of digitally enabled inclusive working environments.

Delegates include: Trans-disciplinary researchers, health practitioners, technologists, engineers,  entrepreneurs, developers, large corporations, NGO’s and public health organisations. The objective is to forge a European ‘A Team’, to co-create and validate digitally enabled (IT-based) services and solutions that will enable people to remain actively involved in professional and personal life related skills and work well into later life. By way of incentive, the European Commission is offering between 3 and 4 million Euro’s to fund collaborative proposals which would allow this challenge to be addressed appropriately.

This event follows a very fruitful KTN meeting in London in late 2017, which you can read about here. The organisers have invited some of the most inspirational UK stakeholders to join them in Bruxelles, along with Horst Kraemer the European Commission’ Programme Officer responsible for EU Silver Economy Policies, and other influential opinion formers and decision makers.

This as an exciting opportunity to rethink the very notion of work life and retirement. Participation is by invitation only and the team have a small bursary to cover travel expenses for a few UK participants. If you are interested in participating please contact info@agileageing.org and please tell us why you should attend.
