Rescheduled date announced for Horizon 2020 partnering event for regenerative medicine
Posted on 12/11/2018
Regenerative medicine offers hope for untreatable disease and the ageing population, improved quality of life and reduced medical costs. However, so far, regenerative medicine has not yet proved itself in the clinic beyond rare diseases or conditions of limited public health importance. With recent scientific discoveries opening up new approaches to regenerative medicine, the challenge is to use these to extend the regenerative approach to major diseases and conditions.
Applications are now open for the Horizon 2020 challenge “Regenerative medicine: from new insights to new applications” with a closing deadline of the 16 April 2019. Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020).
Proposals for the competition should be based on new approaches such as genome editing or gene therapy, transdifferentiation or in vivo reprogramming, cell therapy and transplantation, 3D bioprinting, organoids or use of combined products.
The Swedish Research Council, Vinnova, Enterprise Europe Network, Innovate UK, and the Knowledge Transfer Network are hosting a partnering event, on the 10th January, to aid fostering and facilitating R&D project consortia for the challenge.
The event is open to SMEs, larger companies, technology centres, universities and research organisations, and will help build collaborations, especially between UK and Swedish businesses and research organisations.
If you are looking to lead or participate in a collaborative R&D project for this funding opportunity, this event will:
- Give you access to opportunities with like-minded companies and research organisations
- Enable you to find new partners for collaboration both from UK and Swedish industry and academia
- Help you establish cross-border contacts for collaborative R&D
- Inform you about the research and innovation ecosystem in Europe
Selected UK participants may also be eligible for an Innovate UK travel bursary of up to £500.
