KTN-iX is launched with a challenge for ENGIE

Posted on: 31/01/2019

KTN’s popular innovation eXchange site has returned with a challenge for energy and services company ENGIE.

The KTN-innovation eXchange (KTN-iX) is an online platform that promotes innovation transfer, matching industry challenges to companies, often from other sectors.  The first challenge to be published is for ENGIE.

The company is currently regenerating a former power plant site into a mixed residential and commercial new development. As part of the development there is a 400kV Substation on-site that cannot be moved or removed.  ENGIE is looking for innovative products and solutions that would assist with dealing with the visual and noise “pollution” of sites and buildings such as the substation – preferably in a combined way.  You can view a two-minute video summary of the challenge here.

Businesses who believe they can solve the problem can find out more and submit their response here.  The submissions will be assessed by KTN and ENGIE and the winner(s) will be given a commercial opportunity to develop their solution by ENGIE, with support from KTN and the wider Innovate UK network.

This challenge is likely to be of interest to a wide range of industry sectors including: Materials Chemistry; Creative and Digital; Agri-food; Transport; Infrastructure; Industrial Design; Biotechnology; Robotics; and Sensors and Advanced Imaging.
