Taking aim at business challenges related to the topic of data

The University of Edinburgh’s AIMday Data event is designed to bring together multi-disciplinary researchers with organisations that face challenges.

 

Industry leaders who want to master data can join forces with University of Edinburgh researchers to address business challenges and build new partnerships between industry and academia.

The AIMday is a free one-day event hosted by Edinburgh Innovations, the innovation management service of the University of Edinburgh, taking place on 15 March 2018. It will bring together companies and academics to discuss specific business challenges related to the topic of Data in order to find pathways to solutions.

Companies are asked to put forward their real-life industry questions or challenges, which will be matched with specific academic expertise to form the basis of one-hour, multi-disciplinary workshop discussions in small groups. Companies are invited to put forward multiple questions.

The University of Edinburgh has a wealth of theoretical and practical knowledge available to companies wanting to harness the power of data. Segments of the research and technology areas include:

• Big data and intelligent systems
• Data processing, analysis and storage
• Machine learning
• Cyber security
• Healthcare analytics

“Whether you are seeking to refine your highly developed algorithm or you’re wondering what the whole field of data is about and how it might transform your business, we have a range of experts who are leaders in that field who can help you,” says Alex Cassidy, Programme Manager at Edinburgh Innovations.

Companies and organisations are invited to submit questions for the AIMday up until 2 February 2018 by visiting the Registration for Organisations page. You can submit as many questions as you like.
