Vacancy: Knowledge Transfer Manager – Low Emission Mobility

Posted on 05/02/2019

The successful candidate will support UK companies' work focused on low emission technologies, mainly in the automotive sector.

KTN is the UK’s innovation network; we connect people to accelerate innovation, delivering increased productivity and growth for UK businesses. We have a vacancy in our high performing Transport team, supporting activities in the government’s Industrial Strategy, including the Future of Mobility and Clean Growth Grand Challenges.

The role of the Transport Team is to support the UK’s mobility innovation agenda. The team covers all traditional transport modes, passenger and freight, whilst remaining agile to respond to new and emerging innovations (e.g. Hyperloop, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), sustainable aviation fuel).

The successful candidate will support programmes of work focused on low emission technologies in the automotive sector particularly, but also across other transport modes.  A strong understanding of the UK supply chain around manufacture and exports of low emission vehicles (for 2+ wheeled, on- and off- road, passenger and freight) is required. An appreciation and understanding of integration of battery technologies with other on-vehicle and off-vehicle systems, including CAV and power electronics, and the current and aspirational charging infrastructures for electric vehicles, is also beneficial.

The post holder may be expected to support programmes of work relating to low emission technologies and processes for rail, aviation (sustainable biofuel and electrification) and maritime.

If you are degree educated in a scientific, technical or engineering discipline with post-graduate scientific or engineering industrial experience (especially in automotive engineering), confident working across wider technology and business areas, and able to interact with and understand the needs and capabilities with clients across a range of technical and/or industrial disciplines, then we look forward to hearing from you.
