Chris served as CEO of KTN until April 2019, and has now retired.
Chris has a background as an animal scientist, and his early career was in the livestock genetics industry. Before becoming CEO of the Knowledge Transfer Network, he was CEO of the Biosciences KTN and before that, the CEO and founder Director of one of the 24 Faraday Partnerships. Chris also worked for many years in research and knowledge transfer roles for the UK Meat and Livestock Commission; leading substantial R&D programmes for the industry.
He has in the past been a Trustee of The Roslin Foundation and a member of the Steering Group for the Innovate UK Sustainable Agri-Food Innovation Platform. For ten years, he was Chairman of the Genomia seed fund, and he has a long-standing relationship with BBSRC, having been on three different Strategy Panels. Chris is a Past President of the British Society of Animal Science.
