Andy is the Knowledge Transfer Adviser for Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Exeter.

The Knowledge Transfer Partnerships programme promotes business led, open innovation by connecting companies with academic expertise to enable them to grow their business. Andy looks after businesses supporting their projects with knowledge bases in many parts of the country. Andy also maintains relationships with a number of designated universities in relation to their participation in the programme.

Andy has a technical background in physics and engineering with particular experience in a wide range of electromagnetic technology from microwave to optical frequencies. Andy has spent much of his career in the defence industry where he led a number of multidisciplinary research teams. Andy has been active in business diversification and technology transfer for a number of years gaining experience in diverse markets including FMCG, security, marine and the built environment.
