John is a Knowledge Transfer Adviser promoting Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) in North East England and North West Yorkshire.

The KTP programme promotes business led, open innovation by connecting companies with academic expertise to enable them to grow their business. John looks after businesses supporting their projects with knowledge bases in many parts of the country. John also maintains relationships with a number of designated universities in relation to their participation in the programme.

For John this has included roles as lead Adviser piloting KTP engagement with FE (Further Education) colleges in North East England and in Africa (AKTP) with the British Council and Universities in Nigeria and Ghana. John joined the Knowledge Transfer community following International Trade and Inward Investment postings to the FCO in China, the USA and Kuwait. John completed an MBA from Durham University in 2002 on Regional Economic Development and Business Strategy, while on secondment to the North East Regional Development Agency.

John is the KTA for the following institutions: University of Bradford; Gateshead College; Leeds Beckett University; New College Durham; Newcastle College; University of Northumbria at Newcastle; Northumberland College; South Tyneside College; University of Sunderland; University of Teesside; and Tyne Metropolitan College.
